Training

Hello all! I am sitting at Tenkiller Lodge tonight (as I will be each night this week). I am here for training- the 2nd class of 7 I will be taking with my job at the Assessor's office. So far so good, but pretty boring. I am really excited for this weekend- spending time with the fam and some great friends for a wedding!

This past weekend was awesome- Blake and I went up to Springfield for homecoming and then up to the Lake to meet our new niece Savannah Marie! She was born on our anniversary and is absolutely perfect.

Speaking of our anniversary, it was wonderful. Pretty low key on the actual date, Blake had a test the next day, so we celebrated the night after with a fancy schmancy dinner out!

That's about all that's going on right now- I work a lot and Blake studies a LOT, but we're settling into a routine and figuring out how to make time for each other and for some fun in our new town!

Ellie

For awhile now I've been worried about our little dog, Ellie. She had some issues when we first moved and our other vet said it was probably just stress and to watch her. She'd been doing a lot better for the past couple of weeks, but this week her issues were back. So, we got a reccommendation on a vet and I took her in last night. He said he thought she had Colitis and gave us some medication for her. Unfortunately, she hates the medicine, so after trying to force her to take it last night (finally successful after about 15 min, but I had a seriously ticked off dog), I think I'm going to try cutting the pills smaller.

Blake went out last Sunday to work on his duck blind and has now developed some kind of rash on his eye. It keeps getting worse, and I think he's going to have to go to the dr. It's made his eye swell up and looks very painful.

Today I love: Leftover lasagna for lunch- mmmm.

September

Happy September!!! Twenty days until Blake and I's One Year Anniversary! I'm not sure what all we're going to do to celebrate, but I know it will be special.

Our Labor Day weekend was a lot of fun. We had some of Blake's classmates over Friday evening for some games, then slept in Saturday and I made Blake breakfast in bed:) Then we went shopping (shocker, I know). Blake had been wanting some things for school and I'm going to need some stuff for work. He got all of the things he wanted, but picky me, I only found two things I liked. We did look for a coffee table and end tables. We had found some we really liked at Slumberland in Springfield and decided to put off buying them until we looked here in OK. Well, we looked a bunch on Saturday and the only ones we liked were way more expensive and we still liked the other better. There's not a Slumberland here in Tulsa but there's on in Joplin, and they are so much cheaper than the ones here in town we can drive there and back and still save $$! Here's pictures:

Then, we FOUND GOOD SUSHI!!!! It's a place by the mall called Wasabi and it opened about 3 months ago. It's reasonably priced and DELICIOUS!!! Sunday we went to church and then Blake went out to work on his duck blind. Monday we had lunch with his Aunt Marla and Uncle Dave and their kids, Brooke and Joel, which was a lot of fun, then we had some friends over Monday night too. Very busy, but very fun weekend.
Back to the grind today- hope all of your weekends went well!

Our vacation is officially over...

That's right, I'm now working as the Communications Specialist for the Tulsa County Assessor's office and Blake has started classes. So far I think I'm going to like my job, but I think it may take awhile to become immersed in the work. There's a lot to learn before they'll let me in front of people:) Everyone is friendly, but it's a different environment from what I'm used to having. At KY3 I had a couple of kindred spirits in my coworkers Kristy and Tricia, and of course Fitzgerald First and ADsmith were more like family than coworkers. I realized today that I miss Springfield. I miss all those people that made it home for 5 years, and I feel like I'm starting over here. There's a lot of potential, but I'm not known for my patience.

There are a lot of things here to like. The library system is fantastic and the main branch is right next to my office. Our neighbors are nice, and I still love our house. We have a great seafood market that I'm pretty much in love with, and there's a lot of opportunities for "culture". We have a ballet and museums, and a zoo and aquarium- as soon as I start making some money I'll check some of them out.

Blake has a few days of classes under his belt, and as I type he is in his office, studying away. He came home last night and made flash cards, and he already has a study group that plans to meet at least every Monday. I know the classes are going to be hard, but he's definitely got the right attitude and there's no doubt he has the ability to kick pharmacy school's butt! He's made a lot of new friends and I think h's pretty happy with his class.

Today I love: That the Tulsa Ballet tickets start at just $15!

Sugarboo

Since moving to Tulsa we have been enjoying all of the little shops and stores a bigger city has to offer. When Blake's cousin Sarah and his Grandparetns came down I took Sarah and Grandma Laura down to Brookside and we found a cute little boutique that had these wall plaques. I'm a sucker for a good quote and these were so cute. Here's a link to Sugarboo Designs, but just for looking- they're rather pricey!

Finally an update!

Well, I have been very bad about updating and I really have no excuse. Blake and I have been enjoying a relaxing couple of weeks together before he started his orientation and it has consisted of a lot of reading, watching the Olympics, and exploring our new town.

So let me see if I can summarize some of the important things that have happened since my last update...

Blake's brother, Brad got engaged to his wonderful girlfriend, Jeni! He did so on her birthday with a little charm for a bracelet he had bought her. The charm said Marry Me. They are planning a June 2010 wedding and Blake is the best man and I'm a bridesmaid!!!

We got moved into our new house, it's perfect!!! Plenty of space for us and a nice neighborhood. Also, great access to the highways- Blake's only about 12 min from school! Here's some photos:

Hmm, what else has been going on? I got a job:) I am the new Communications Specialist for the Tulsa County Assesors Office. I start Monday! Blake started his orientation yesterday and starts classes this Monday. We have his white coat ceremony this weekend and Darrel and Judy are coming down- it's his official welcome into the program and he's very excited!
I think that about sums us up- I'll try to be better about updating!

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

We are moving in 10 days!!! We found a rental house in Tulsa- 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 2 car garage, and a privacy fence for our puppies! I'll post pictures once we're moved. The plan is to move all of our stuff the 26th, then come back that next week and finish working. So, we'll be living on an air mattress for about 3 days!

We had Brad's graduation this past weekend- he won the academic award, and we are SO proud of him!!! I also had a baby shower for Carrie, and it went very well- I need to post pictures of both occasions!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Finally, a new post!!! Lots going on, yet not a lot as well. I am very busy with searching and applying for jobs in OK, as well as looking for a place to live. We're also trying to figure out all of our finances, which is difficult since we have no idea what I'll be making. Blake's back in Lamar this week to help out on the farm. He told me they got all of the wheat on one farm cut yesterday and Darrel got to plant milo. YAY!!!

Cory graduated!!! Many congratulations to him and Kristina!!!! I know they've both sacrificed a lot to make this dream come true. And, they're moving to Wichita Falls, TX which is only 3.5 hrs from Tulsa!!!! I can not wait to live closer to them!!!!!

Brad is graduating!!! He's put so much hard work and endured so much for Highway Patrol and again, so proud of him and Jeni!!!

We have a baby shower coming up for Carrie- she and Shane are having a baby GIRL this September. Yay for more pink!!!

That's a pretty general update on what's going on in our lives. Please pray that I will find work in OK soon, and a perfect rental home will become available.

Turkey hunting

It's been awhile since I've posted! We visited Lamar last weekend so Blake could turkey hunt with his brother, Brad, which was fun. They didn't get a bird, but Blake and I went mushroom hunting and found a lot of Morels. Yum.

Blake went hunting today as well, and I think he's starting to get frustrated, not getting a bird. I think he may be callind up some friends of ours that live right outside of town to ask if he can hunt on their place. They've had turkeys right out their back door, but Blake said that wasn't hunting, that was just killing and he wanted to try hunting one first.

Whatever gets it in the deep fryer...

I don't know why, but today feels like Thursday. There's not a lot going on, Blake and I are helping my aunt move this weekend, and my parents are coming down for that, so we need to clean the house and go to the grocery store, but neither of those sounded very appealing last night. And so we watched the season premier of Deadliest Catch. Blake loves it, and I think I could get very addicted.

Miss Ellie needs a haircut!!! I think Blake's going to try to take her in tomorrow since he has the day off. I try to keep in out of her eyes, but she's turned into a little ragmop.

Today I love: Lemon Caper Chicken- leftovers from last night.

Food Blog

So as many of you know, I love food. I love cooking, eating out, researching new recipes, and watching food network. And so, I've started a food blog. I'll post favorite recipes, and talk about the restaurants Blake and I try. If you want to check it out, go to YumInMyTum.com. Oh, and send me all your good recipes!

Yum

So, today I'm going to toot my own horn just a bit:) A few years ago, I had one of the best meals I think I've ever had at Clary's- creamy orzo. I got the recipe, and that same year, I attempted to remake the yumminess. Lets just say it did NOT go well, and resulted in me throwing out the whole thing. It had you reducing a white wine mixture, which totally threw me off.

Skip ahead a few years- I look up orzo on foodnetwork.com and find a recipe very similar to the one from Clary's- without the whole white wine thing. It's time to reattempt.

I used parts of both recipes, and substituted a few things of my own (I didn't have a shallot, so I used onion salt, and I also used lemon juice, which is a personal favorite of mine. No frozen peas on hand, so I used sugar snap peas, etc.) I also didn't measure anything, because I don't like getting things dirty if I don't have to, and I do things to Blake and I's taste anyway.

Final product- YUMMY!!! I was so excited!!!! So here's the recipe I would say I most followed, with the substitutions I mentioned above...

Creamy Orzo
1 pound orzo (rice-shaped pasta)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 large shallot

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

1 can diced tomatoes, juices drained

1 1/4 cups whipping cream

1 cup frozen peas, thawed

3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Bring a heavy large saucepan of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the orzo and cook until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring often, about 8 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a heavy large frying pan over medium heat. Add the shallot and garlic, and saute until tender, about 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook until they are tender, about 8 minutes. Stir in the cream and peas. Add the orzo and toss to coat. Remove the skillet from the heat. Add the Parmesan to the pasta mixture and toss to coat. Stir the pasta mixture until the sauce coats the pasta thickly, adding enough reserved cooking liquid to maintain a creamy consistency. Season the orzo with salt and pepper, and serve.

Today I love: Creamy Orzo, duh

Alum Weekend

Alum Weekend was in a word, amazing. The only bad thing about the weekend was saying goodbye to all of my sorority sisters again- I cried. Being back together after so much time apart really made me appreciate that no matter how much time passes, there will always be people that can say, "Remember that one time..."

Thursday night: Heather arrives!!!

Friday: Rebecca arrives- we all get ready and go up to Ebbet's to meet up with the rest of the girls. Then we head to the FREEZING COLD cards game.

Went out for the evening- slept in till about 8:15 on Saturday- Blake had to work at 8, then Rebecca came in and woke me up (she always wakes up early and wanted company). Spent some quality time with her and Heather, then got ready for the Alum Banquet. We had a guest speaker- one of the original charter advisors that told us all about how Alpha Chi Omega got out start at Missouri State 25 years ago. And, we of course, took a class pic:

Then we went out for the night- met up with the class two years ahead of us, and had lots of fun.

To do:
  • Finish cleaning the house (dust guest room, clean bathroom)
  • Give Ellie a bath- should probaby do this before I clean the bathroom
  • Make chocolate cookies
  • Finish folding clean clothes

We finally used the pork tenderloin I bought before we were even married last night to make pulled pork... mmmm. I think that will be my lunch today as well, and I'll probably just do something quick tonight for dinner like a sandwich- that was I can get on that to do list before people start arriving!

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Happy Wednesday!!! This weekend is Alumnae Weekend for my sorority and my friends start arriving tomorrow night!!! YAY! I have two friends staying with me, so Blake and I have been cleaning the house- well he has been cleaning while I've been working on free lance stuff. He had yesterday and today off, and he works tomorrow at 2, so he's gotten a lot done. I plan to attack the house tonight when I get off work, as well as Miss Ellie, who is in desperate need of a BATH!

The knee is doing... better, I think. I was going to try to walk a bit tonight, but with all we have to do, I think I'll just give it another few days and hope it's really all better. I'm debating whether or not I'll be able to do the half marathon- I REALLY want to, but I'm way behind in my training and Addie's not going to be able to do it, so it's not looking too good.

Friday

Busy day toady!! I'm trying to get a lot of things done for clients before April 1. Blake and I are heading back to Lamar tonight for his momma's bday, should be a great weekend. I have to take my laptop to get some things done, but hopefully it won't take too much time.

My big brother is graduating from PA school in June. He has a headhunter looking for a job for him in 3 states- Florida, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. So everyone start praying for a job for him in Oklahoma!!!!

Blake and I had dinner with my former boss and his wife last night at Haruno- so yummy! It was wonderful to see them- I miss talking with them everyday!

Today I love: That Blake is making pork chops and stuffing for lunch, and we get to see our wedding video tonight!

Knee Update

I tried running last night after taking Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. I didn't even make it a mile walking, and only about 10 ft running. So, no more running for me for at least a week, then if it's still messed up I'm heading to the Dr. Fabulous.

Easter weekend was good- Blake had to work so I just cleaned house and worked on some free lance stuff. The service at James River was FANTASTIC!!! They don't have it up online, but I'll try to link to it when they do! It was a great service, and even we wanted to be with family I think God wanted us there for that service.

I'm going to have a busy night tonight- I took a short lunch so I can go to my free lance work from 4:30-6:30, then I'm goin to a client's to take pictures at 7:30. I don't plan on staying too long, and I'm taking a friend with me, but I still probably won't be home for good until around 9.

Today I love: That Hillary (a former coworker of mine) is having a baby boy!!!!

Blake's first blog

Well, for the first time ever I'm glad to not have a basement during a storm! Our yard has good drainage so we didn't have any damage, but our next door neighbors weren't so lucky. Lori and I were about to take Gus for a run as Bob and Jen caught me putting his crate in the truck. Apparently the four feet of water in their basement attracted a two feet long garter snake which terrified Bob and Jen. Jen wanted it gone, but unharmed so I picked up the angry snake by it's tail and naturally chased Bob around the yard with it until he nearly fell in the mud. I hope everyone is drying out nicely and had no damage.

It's finally Friday

Thank goodness it's Friday! On Wednesday, Addie and I ran our 3 miles is 39 min and 39 sec. Woot! However, I wore my old shoes because we thought the trail would be really nasty and towards the end my knee started to hurt. Last night it was so pretty out that Blake and I decided to go for a run, and my knee began to hurt right in the middle of the run, then my hip started to hurt. By the end we had done less than 3 miles in over an hour and a half because I couldn't run or even walk fast. I went home and iced it, and it feels a little better today (no shooting pains), but it's still pretty sore. I don't know if I just hurt it while running in my old shoes and I aggravated it last night or what, but I'm not liking this.

Today I love: KY3 monthly lunch- this month it's comfort food of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and COBBLER- I LOVE COBBLER!

It finally stopped raining...

Last night was lots of fun! I had a hard time staying awake after we finished the feast of sushi (we didn't get done eating until 9:30, well 10 for Blake- he had a total of 5 rolls plus several nigiri) Mmmm- and we have leftovers, so I'm VERY tempted to make sushi tonight too. Blake has to work until 10 and all I have after my run is a phone date with Miss Rebecca:)

I've been looking at rentals in Tulsa, since our financial guy informed us since the banks are cracking down it might be hard for us to qualify without me having a job for awhile. It's just SO expensive to rent, everything I've looked at has been about $850-$1250 a MONTH, plus if they even take pets there's a large pet deposit, etc. I think we might just have to suck it up though. On the positive side it would be less stressful to rent- we wouldn't have to make as many trips down there before we move, and if anything happens you just call the landlord, and there's no buyers remorse. Plus we'd have the time we rent to really get to know the city and figure out where we want to live.

I just found out that runners get free admission to the Oklahoma Aquarium after the half-marathon. Now I just have to figure out if I'll even be alive at that point.

RAIN!

It is POURING outside. As in, severe flooding all over Spring patch.

I start free lancing tonight- anyone with knowledge about self-employment, taxes, etc... please call me:) Then our friends Evan and Holly are coming over tonight at 7 to make sushi. Evan leaves on Monday for basic training for the Army, so this will be our last time hanging out with them for awhile. I'm excited to make sushi- we haven't done so in over a month! Mmmmm.

I can't believe it's only Tuesday. It feels like Friday. Last night I did 3 miles with Addie- we walked a lot of it because we were both sore from Sunday. I picked up a Pilates dvd at the library to do for my core excercises. This weekend I think I'm spending Easter with Addie and her husband, Matt, after church since Blake has to work. We're going to eat and play games- then we have our long run- 7 miles this weekend. Whoo Hoo!

Today I love- making sushi with friends and this quote: "I run to silence the voice in my head that says I can't."

Weekend Recap

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE!!!

We had a fabulous weekend! Blake's surprise party was on Friday night and he was very surprised and so happy! It meant a lot to both of us to have so many people there to celebrate his birthday and acceptance to Pharmacy School! On Saturday we both went and got fitted for new running shoes. Blake got a pair of Brooks and I got the new Saucony Paramount!!!

Blakes:

Mine:

Then we hung out with my parents, Carrie, Shane and Madera on Saturday for a bit- we had yummy Mijuri sushi for lunch- we were in heaven!!! When they all headed out Blake and I crashed and napped for about 2 hours. Lazy night:)

Sunday: Went to the first ever 11:30 service at James River Assembly! Next week we'll go to the 8:30 since Blake has to work, but we (I) slept in this Sunday. Then we met with our new financial guy and invested some $.

Then it was time for the long run. Blake came along and did 3.1 miles, while Addie and I did 6 in about 80 min. We ran a LOT more than last weekend and I was pretty sore last night, but not too bad today- we'll see how I feel after our 3 miles tonight. Good news- even though we ran a lot more, I had zero blisters (thank you Peds socks and new shoes).

I start freelance work this week, just have to figure out all this tax stuff.... and when I'll have a life. I figure I'll be working another 7-10 hours a week, which isn't too bad, but it will be after work and on the weekends, plus with my training schedule I'll be a busy bee!

Today I love: My husband- it's his 24th birthday!!!

BIG NEWS!!!

BLAKE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED TO UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA PHARMACY SCHOOL!!! This was his first choice, and we will be moving to Tulsa at the end of July! I am SO proud of him, and although we know the next four years will not be easy, we are very excited to start this next chapter of our lives!!!

In other news, I did 3 miles tonight with Addie, her two dogs, and Gus- quite the adventure! Gus was IN LOVE with the other dogs, and my arm got a great workout. Tomorrow is a busy day, so I better head off to bed- this time change is kickin' my butt!

Today I love: OU- for realizing, the same way I did, what an amazing catch Blake is.

Saturday, March 8, 2008

I met my friend Addie at the Sequiota trail today, planning on doing 4 miles with her and her dog Suka- a beautiful husky. Well, it was a great time- talked the whole hour and a half, but I didn't do 4 miles... I DID 6!!!!! She's a kick-butt marathon runner, so I was nervous about slowing her down, but I think we're pretty good for each other, and I'm thinking (THINKING) about training with her for a half marathon in May. It's something I never ever thought I would do, but the more I think about it the more excited I get about the idea of accomplishing something so big and challenging! We're going to run together 2 nights a week short distances, then on the weekends run longer with our dogs.

Speaking of dogs, Gus man didn't get to go running today because Blake had to take him to the vet. Last week he got a thorn in his paw while training, and he's been limping whenever he exerts himself too much and the paw's been swelling- not good, especially for a hunting dog whose dad has BIG dreams for him. Turns out he had a cyst between his pads. They had to give him anesthesia and CUT IT OUT:(
I feel so bad for him, but he seems totally fine. He's not even limping. We have antibiotics for him, and Blake thinks he'll be ready to run with me next weekend.
Today I love: Having a friend to run with on a beautiful trail.

Finley...

Ok, I've been meaning to post about this for awhile, but I wanted to have enough time to do it right. The weekend Blake and I went to Oklahoma, we went back to Lamar for the rest of the weekend. That Sunday, Blake's dad, Darrel, told us about a calf born that morning. It's mom had given birth right in the cold creek:( When he went out to check it, I asked to go with him.

When we got out there, the calf was still laying on the ground, it hadn't gotten up to nurse the way it should have, so he tried to help it up. It wouldn't get up, and it had been too long for it to go without nursing, and it was so cold, so we decided to bring it up to the house and try to get it warm.
Darrel let me rub her down with towels, and she was so cute!!! She started sucking on my fingers and mooing at me! We gave her some calf formula and then encouraged her to stand on her own.
Darrel said I was a good nurse, and he let me name her! So... meet Finley!!!!

Blake's working 5-10 tonight, so I'm going to meet up with my friend Addie and jog/WALK a few miles after work. The hubs has been so good about going to the gym (4 days a week at 5:30am!!!), and it's really starting to show! It's time for me to get my butt in gear. I have no plans to get up at 5:30 in the morning, but since my schedule is a lot more set than his I'll be attempting to get my excercise in the evenings. I'm starting slow- I joined SparkPeople, and my goal is 10 min of cardio per day - longer than that 2 days a week and drinking 64 oz of water each day. We'll see how it goes.

I like winter when it's just like it is now. The roads are clear, bt there's still snow on the ground making everything look clean and bright as opposed to drab and bleary. And, the sun is shining, with no bitter wind.

Still ready for summer though!!!!

Today I love: Strawberry jam on toast
Today I miss: Kristina- because I bet she'd walk with me if I asked her. Ok, now I'm going to go cry. Stupid Florida.

SNOW!

Well, the weatherman predicted snow, and he was right. We got about 8 inches! I woke up about 6:40 this morning to my wonderful husband shoveling snow and took pity on him and made coffee and breakfast- eggs and ham and toast instead of the normal cereal and no coffee. I called the other girl in my dept and we decided to work from home for the morning. I'm glad I waited- I came in at 12:15 and while the main roads are ok, the road to get there from my house is NOT. I went about 10 miles and hour though and made it to work safe. Blake gets off work at the same time as I do which means we all get to play in the snow tonight! Snow and hot cocoa and my husband and puppies, ah this is the life. AND I think I'm going to try to make a pineapple upside down cake tonight.

Today I love: That I have a husband that gets up early to shovel the snow so my car can get out of the drive.

Weekend

Back to work after a great weekend! Friday night we treated ourselves to a couple of steaks, then slept in on Saturday. Then we drove to Jefferson City- Carrie's birthday was the 28th and my Mom's is today, so we had some great family time. Madera was sick, but still a little cuddlebug, and we watched Dumbo together and played Barbies:) I can't wait till this summer when we get to have her for the weekend- we're going to take her to the zoo!

Sunday night Blake and I sat down and worked on budget stuff- with me having a new job and him starting school in the fall we needed to rework everything, and I think we both feel better about having done that and knowing exactly where we stand with everything. Now we just have to figure out which school and then figure out school loans.

After that we got sushi and watched Lord of the Rings. I love being married to Blake!!!

Where the winds come sweepin' down the plains

Our trip to Oklahoma was great- Blake thinks his interview went really well, and we should know by the end of March. We went on a tour of Tulsa with Blake's aunt and uncle and it seemed like a bigger version of Springfield. Here's some fun pictures from OK.

While we were there we were also able to see the Oklahoma City National Memorial. It was so powerful, it's hard to explain. There are two archways, one that says 9:01 and another that says 9:03, with a pool in between. They signify the moment before the blast, the moment after, and the faces reflected in the pool that were changed forever. There is also a field of 168 chairs, one for each of those killed, with 19 smaller sized chairs for each of the children.

One of the most interesting parts of our visit to the memorial though, was across the street from the memorial. A Catholic church was destroyed in the blast, except for a cross on the easter wall of the church that had been there since 1909. In the place where that church stood is now a statue of Jesus turned away from the memorial crying. I got a great picture of it as well.

Day 2

The ice has started, and is expected to continue. It wasn't horrible driving this morning, but I suspect it may be this afternoon. So, I am not taking a lunch today and will just leave at 4 so we can try to get on the road earlier.

Last night my friend Kristin and I went to Kai downtown because they were having a half price sushi special after 9pm. We got there at about 9:20, and they told us it would be about a 40 minute wait. Blake got off work at 10, so we had him come join us, thinking we'd get seated at any momet. They were PACKED and we were finally seated at 10:40!!!! The sushi was yummy, but I don't think it was worth the almost hour and a half wait. Oh well, you live, you learn.

I'm hungry. Working on a presentation for McDonalds doesn't help.

First Blog

Hello!!! I thought this would be a great way for Blake and I to keep in contact with everyone. I'll try to update it often, and keep everyone informed of what's going on in our lives. The big news for right now is, of course, that Blake has been accepted to Pharmacy School at Creighton in Omaha, NE. We are going down to Oklahoma this weekend for his interview for OU, and we're very excited!

I'm now working at KY3, in Online Sales. I really like the station, and I've had some success in actually selling, which I was told probably wouln't happen in my first month, but it did! Hopefully I can keep that going!

We're supposed to get another ice storm starting tonight through Friday, hopefully it won't make the drive to OK too bad.

For those of you who haven't seen it, here's my current favorite picture of our little family.
